(iCandy) My Dolly Cradle

When I was a little girl, my mom's cousin made me this awesome doll rocking-cradle.  I loved it, and played with it all the time.  My parents, miraculously, have hung on to it for a few decades up in Washington!  I decided it would be really fun if I could somehow get it down to our home in Southern Cal, and refinish it for my daughters for Christmas.  

 With no help from me, when Ivy (my 3 year old) wrote to Santa, she told him she wanted a new doll bed.  I was thrilled! 

I'm pretty sure that Santa stole it from my parents barn, on Chrismas Eve, but regardless of how he managed it, Santa delivered!

It was a really fun project to work on in my little 'workshop' where no one knew where I was, or what I was doing.  It was especially fun because it was mine, I had fun memories floating through my head all the while, and I felt like I was making it better for my little girls.

Next on the list of things to do is to make a little pad for the bottom so our little dolly's don't bonk, and have a cozy place to lay.
