I was so excited when
Pink Poodle Bows contacted us to try out one of their patterns! They have a ton of irresistible little girl dresses and rompers, and I would have chosen any one of those in a second, but I just kept returning my gaze to their series of E-readers.
If you recall, a little while ago, I did sew myself a 'Kindle Keeper' with the help of Melissa at the
Polka Dot Chair. It was covered with iron-on vinyl, and I really do love it...
{check my kindle keeper out here}but I wanted to try out another pattern, and maybe make one for my mom for Mother's Day. {with baby coming, I fee like I should be on top of these things, ya know?}I was anxious to try out the other format, as well...my first one was sort of a sleeve, and I thought it would be fun to make a 'book-like' one.
As easy as the tut was to make the original Kindle Keeper that I made, there were just a lot of steps, including ironing on the vinyl...and sewing on vinyl is tricky, so my stitches weren't perfect and pretty.

The Pink Poodle Bow's E-reader pattern was soooo simple and easy to follow.
Here are a couple of my favorite things that I liked about this pattern: First of all, it doesn't matter if you have a Kindle, a Nook, a Kindle Touch, Fire, Kindle 4, Nook Color, Tablet, Touch...or even an iPad. This pattern gives you measurements to fit any and all of those...and I'm sure I missed some. Love that. Just because I have a Kindle, doesn't mean that anyone that I want to make it for does, as well, so this is the perfect versatility pattern.
Second, I did not buy 1 single thing for this pattern (don't tell my mom). I suppose I had left-over fusible fleece, but otherwise, I had all the stuff...the amount of fabric required is minimal. I love it when I can make something out of stuff I already have!
Thirdly...Quick Project...Don't be fooled by the 18 pages. It is indeed 18 pages to download the pattern/instructions, but that's because it's such a versatile pattern, as I mentioned before, and it's so nicely explained...you can't mess it up!
